FBG going up again (at least by home meter readings): why?

It appears that I may have been too triumphalist about my low carb success: after five months I am now getting home FBG readings of 5.9-6.1 mmol/l again. Of course, I will keep an eye on it and I have ordered some control fluid to make sure my meter's all tickety-boo, but what could be causing this? For background I am 5 foot 1, weigh 8st 2lbs (so far from overweight), am very physically active (lunchtime walks totalling about 12 miles per week, plus a run of three + miles each Saturday) and am restricting carbs to around 80g / day. Is this likely to be insulin resistance making a comeback? I also have hypothyroidism but that's adequately controlled and my weight is steady.
