Hi all, I currently use the Freestyle InsuLinx and definitely have no complaints it however I have been looking at the my Dario meter just because it would be nice to have "less" to carry around.

I am in Canada so the InsuLinx is set up to make insulin recommendations based upon the blood sugar reading and the amount of carbs I will be eating, etc.

What I am wondering is if anyone here has used the my Dario and would they recommend it? What did they like and not like about it?

Thanks,

Hello,

To put it simply - it's the best thing I've ever used in association with being diabetic. The initial outlay is so small for the meter, lancets and x50 test strips. The strips are also available on the NHS in the UK. The phone application is also available free

Here is the link to a previous thread of mine wrt the Dario Smart Meter. A good bit of feedback from other users too:

I sound like a company rep but I would recommend this to everyone and anyone who wants to travel light.

Ooo thanks! That was excellent feedback on the meter. I may give it a go!

You really should. Blood testing takes slightly longer due to getting things plugged into your phone, etc. But this is a trade off I'm happy to make time and time again to avoid having bulky items squeezed into my pockets, like with traditional meters.

I have used myDario for the last 5 weeks and really like it. Compact and handy to carry with you. I am going to be seeing an Endocrinologist as soon as the appointment is confirmed and will see if he is familiar with it and get his/her comments. Went from pre-diabetic to Type 2 not too long ago so need more than just a local hospital Diabetic diet consultation. I have used 3 or 4 different meters in the past and had problems with either forgetting to charge or replace the batteries (therefore some wild readings - a 28 sure gets the Adrenalin going LOL ). myDario uses my always-charged iPhone that I am never without The local pharmacies here in my small city in Canada do not carry the supplies but I order online and receive within 2 days. So far, 2 thumbs up!
