Feeling Bit Upset With Bg

Don't stress about it...probably the physical and mental stress of worrying about BGs that in my books are normal could have raised them and as long as they are under 7 mmol/l and sometimes a wee bit higher after a meal are okay in my books.

Yeah true story, they came down again a couple of days later, defo do get stressed but keep trying to tell myself that I am doing ok! x
 
MissMac - Where you are in this Big D journey, I'd say rejoice in the good days and review the bad ones to learn what you can, but then move swiftly on. Self flagellation for every little variation or seemingly obvious (looking back) learning point is just a waste of energy.

You've made huge progress, so don't encourage yourself to stall because there's a little bump in the road. Bumps in the road are sometimes what make the journey interesting and are often the most informative times.
 
MissMac (why does that name make me think of a Big Mac? ), I would use my own BG readings as an example of why you shouldn't stress over individual readings.

1. Fasting BG this am 6.0 OK'ish.
2. Had bacon and eggs for b/fast
3. Had a smoothie of blueberries and blackberries with soya milk at 1pm.
4. I tested at 3:30pm and my BG was 10.8!!!! This is the highest reading I have had since I started testing. I was shocked - no more blueberries for me.
5. I exercised in the park after that and I tested at 6pm and my BG was 5.0. This was the lowest reading I have had since I started testing.

So my highest and lowest readings happened within 3 hours of each other. Obviously a carb spike from the smoothie. However, as quite a serious investor I realise that daily readings are just noise. What I am really interested in is the long term trend.
