Hi Scotty, I feel your pain, I'm only diagnosed 5 weeks ago and already landed in hospital due to high blood glucose, low blood pressure and dehydration, (caused by metformin) I feel this is the beggining of a nightmare..

Hi,
I have been type 2 for 1 year and am struggling to cope and just feel like no one understands me. I feel great physically and have lost 4 stone but also still get 16-20 mmol aswell as levels around 8 without medication. I'm going to try the Newcastle diet but let my doctor know before hand .
I know this sounds stupid but I am just looking for friends who know what I am going through and maybe if anyone has reversed there diagnoses
Many thanks scott
You are a young man, as you know it's to your long term benefit to get your BG under control. if you have good control, It's unlikely you will get any of the bad complicationsstill get 16-20 mmol as well as levels around 8 without medication.
Denise I think Scotty lost the 4 stone through good dieting after diagnosis, not before diagnosis, so Type 2 sounds like the right diagnosis for him as far as we can tell. Though the 16 mmol/L readings are a bit of worry, as long as they improve with time there's no reason for alarm I think.Going on your age Scott and the fact that you have lost a lot of weight, maybe you are not a Type 2 at all. You may be LADA or slow onset Type 1. The Newcastle Diet may not be right for you.
