Thanks Mike I do hope so I even put bubble wrap on my feet thinking this would help sounds crazy I know but I would try anything lol.My suggestion is you need to first get those BSs under control ... once they are, the pain should subside but gentle exercise won't hurt at all.
It's a common complaint for many starting out and I know you have losing weight as one of your first tasks plus getting that diet correct. You are certainly starting out right with the correct footwear and massaging.
Keep at it, for many (including me) it does die down quite a bit once you have addressed the other matters
Mike
Hi Ruth B thanks for replying I shall look into socks never wear them but maybe it is something I should look into, seems I have so many questions to ask but some sound silly for example I got up took my reading which was 6.3 my feet were burning like mad,I had to do a sample today to send off to the hospital so sorted that out now as if by magic my feet are ok for the moment so I know it sounds silly but what is the connection with my feet and my wee?I am lucky that I don't have much problem with my feet yet, however recently I noticed I was having a problem with one foot if I walked for more than half a mile or so, the underside of my heel started to feel bruised even though there was no obvious sign. A few days of hobbling around and it would heal up until I went for a walk again. I dug out some old padded socks that are designed for long distance runners (I never did running but they helped when out walking), double layered to help keep the feet dry and extra padding around the heel and the toes. They worked so well that I went back to the sports shop and bought another few pairs. They aren't cheap but they might be worth it. Try asking at a good sports shop if you have one nearby.
Welcome to the forum Andrew,I know exactly how you feel,I wish I had the answers the only thing I do know is that putting bubble wrap on your feet doesn't help either lol Take Care Andrea.I'm very new with this feet problem stuff.. It's hurts like crazy.. Worst pain I believe I ever felt .. My feet pain accures 80% of my day ..
I'm really looking for advice on how can I deal with my naropthia.. I am type 2..
Thanks everyone
Not sure what else I can do?
Thank you I shall speak to the nurse in a few weeks time.As a diabetic you are entitled to have your feet checked by a podiatrist every 12 months, your Dr can refer you over or you can self-refer yourself, I know you've already seen a Neurologist but a Podiatrist will check your feet and footwear and see if there's anything they can see what might be causing the discomfort.
Hi Patricia21 the burning feeling is awful, everyday this is a big problem for me I bought the sketchers they are so comfortable I also bought a pair of hotters shoes they are expensive but so comfortable worth every penny also have really good sales,My son has a pair for school and my daughter who is at Uni wears them as she is on her feet all day.My feet feel like they are burning at times also sometimes very cold and numb,it dosent seem to be anything to do with blood suger levels.
I bought some lovely comfortable shoes that I ware outside ,and inside as slippers Sketchers Go Walk,I bought them on e bay, they have helped a lot.
Hi Ruth B have to agree sensible shoes over fashion any day, especially knowing now what I know, still love looking at shoes but don't buy anymore didn't really have a big shoe thing going on more into trainers.Keep Well Andrea.I'll also add that the time my feet feel like they are burning is when I have let them go cold, when they start to warm up they feel like I have just stepped into a too hot bath, its one of the reasons I try not to let them get cold, shoes, socks totes (slipper socks) and hot water bottles (in a fur fabric case, or wrapped in a towel to prevent burning my feet) are all common place for me.
Just curious has anybody got or tried one of the foot massagers that are meant to help with circulation,I was told that when my feet burn cool them down in some tepid water not sure by who now.
