hello to all not been on for a while got stuck in to sorting things out with some success since mid november and receiving all the advice from here went on carb control with loads of exercise basically train now 7 days a week gone from 21 stone to 16 in 5 month that includes about a stone lost before diagnosis never felt better since mid 20s i know it sounds ridiculous but to a certain extent feel t2 diagnosis did me a favour morning bg around 5.4 much improved bought my test strips off e bay much cheaper, tested for 8 times a day for past 2 weeks to get average per day and comes out at 5.9 so tonight ended up having an indian tandoori chicken starter not to bad samber main 1 pompadom with onion and some mango chutney and about 1/2 a peshwari nam swilled down with bottle of red and 2 pints. checked blood after 2 hours and could not believe 6.2 is this the alchol and if so will it kick in with bg at higher levels later.on another point have tried the interval training 3 times, an hour after main meal 20 secs hard bike rest 10 secs then 20sec again etc for 3 mins brings bg down between 1 and 2 points seems to work for me,another thing wanted to ask seen lots of info about how much risk of heart attack and strokes we are but is this still the case if we control the bg and cholestral and bp or are we still higher risk and if so why?sorr y if its a bit rambling but i have had a drink cheers

a bit?? - did you say a bottle of red and two pints? - I'm not surprised your numbers are good (and you can't type). Sounds like good numbers though even if you may be pickling yourself at the same time.
