FEMALE issues?

Hi! Sorry to leave out the men in this forum but not really relevant for you!
I've been diagnosed type1 for 10yrs now and unfortunately not had a smooth ride (my fault and I try hard now!). What would be great is to know if anyone else hS these issues-
No period
Hairy nipples (sorry!)
Also this can be a thread for any other female queries!

My periods stopped for none before before and after diagnosis but have been fine ever since. How long have you been without?

And yes
 
Hmm 8 years now but it's never really been looked at because of other issues but now I'm on top of things I want to see if there's anything I can do.

Any ideas on te other?? Apparently plucking is bad, shaving would silly and wax an obvious no no! What to do?! And why does it happen?! x

That's interesting re high sugars, maybe they were too high for too long and it just stopped everything long term in my case.....

Polycystic overaries can cause hair to grow/sprout in other places .
Hormone imbalance's with hypothyroidism can make this happen too .

May be worth asking your own GP about these?

Thanks Anna, I was tested for both about a year ago but they were -ve so it's something else. Strange I know. x

Have they tested your testosterone levels ?
If running high - more hair can grow/sprout ...

When periods decrease there can be variable hormone changes in us ladies
A neighbours daughter grew side burns and a moustache with her hormones being out of synch .
She had medication to help her with this .
 
@jwhittle97 if you're still in the forum then since my post a few months back I've actually had 4 normal cycles. They came back without taking any meds after about 8 years of nothing...sometimes our bodies give us a break

My periods were very heavy and irregular from 11-18 years.
At 19 they stopped.
Mentioned it to about 5 doctors over the next 15 years (all male), and was basically told (with differing levels of tact) that it was because I was too fat.
Finally, age 30+ a new (female) doctor suggested I might have PCOS and sent me for tests.
2 years later, I finally got a diagnosis of PCOS and micro adenomas of the pituitary gland (many tiny benign tumours which produce excess prolactin).

Now I take medication, am no longer gaining weight, and feel a lot better. Life is good.

So, if a problem like this persists, keep asking until you get a proper answer. Don't let them fob you off.
