Hi there,
I am 27 and have had type 1 diabetes for 20 years.
Recently I have been asked to donate eggs to a family member who has been unable to conceive. I would like to be able to do this for her, and my clinic have advised that if I am able to drop my hba1c, that there is THEORITICALLY no reason why I couldn’t do this.
Since my discussion with my clinic I have had nothing but warnings from other family members and the few people I know who have undergone similar treatment. Health problems, weight gain, mood swings, headaches etc – not to mention that I have also been told that really I shouldn’t be considering this unless I have finished having whatever family I may be planning.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice or additional information would be very welcome!!
