So I’ve been eating grenade carb killa bars for couple weeks. They are a life saver.
I can’t binge because they will upset stomach so I know it’s a 1 a day!

I sometimes eat in one go or eat bits leave and eat bits and leave etc.

But I have wanted to try this specific one and couldn’t find them. The numbers are slightly more than the others so didn’t want to buy box from amazon.

And I found one yesterday, so promptly got up this morning, and ate it. It was soooooo delicious. And now the waiting game starts.

Fingers crossed it dies t spike me because it was so delicious.

But it’s sweet so well, that’s why. So will have to be rad careful anyway but god it was lovely to eat something that was so nice.

Anyway. Now the waiting game. The concern is because polythings are 11 and carbs 18 so the gap is quite big compared to other ones!! But I’m getting it over and done with early. Going as carb free as I can rest of day so figured I’d test it.

Thanks @Cana, I'll try those. My favourite PhD Protein bar was the Dark Choc and Raspberry version.

They all sound lovely, where can you buy from.

Hmmm ended up on 8.6.

How bad is 8.6? I really really liked these! Really.

Depends what your level was before you ate the bar? Did it go up more than 2mmol? I also look at how quickly my blood reuturns back to my pre reading.
Persoanlly 8.6 would be too high for me i dont like going over 7, at this point in my journey

5.2

Over 7? Good lord. I wake up only just under that sometimes.

I think 8.6 is ok but I guess for me that’s still quite good because it’s not double figures and to be honest I’ve only really just managed that.

I suppose o see it that it’s only 0.6 over.

But then I guess I’m still newish to this stuff

I tested 5.2 at 7.40 then 8.6 at 9.40 now 7.5 at 10.20

No type 2 but these bars spike me.
Probably because they are low fat as well as low carb and that protein can get converted to glucose especially if you are low carb most of the time. I'd save them for a treat as you're adjusting to eating lower carb perhaps? Definitely better than many 'healthy' flapjacks/museli bars though!

That was a big spike of 3mmol/l and still nowhere near your starting point of 5.2 after 3 hours. I don't think your body is ready for these yet.

I don’t know if I’m ever below 8 when I eat unless it salad and meat and absolutely no carb.

I’m not sure my body knows what under 8 after a meal is.

I no longer go into double figures like I used to (well not as much)

But I am usually 8 or 8. Something after eating.

Is this under 8 thing more fir people who have done this for a long time and have the diabetes under control?

The other ones don’t seem to.

Dark mint one I think gets me below 8.

I don’t know if I can ever get to within the proper limits. Unless I don’t eat anything

Oh that's great if you have found one that works better.
I don't think there's a perfect carb level btw so was NOT trying to lecture you out of your killa bars!

I should have said it does depend what the starting point is. Sorry. Sometimes i can be only just under 7 in a morning (fbg) i was actually thinking later in the day when my levels are lower. (usually in the 5s)
8.6 is a massive spike though if you started at 5.2

Can I join in here, I've been thinking of trying Karb killas. Are high protein bars better for my bgs then? What suggestions can someone offer if protein bars are for me. Thank you in advance. Q.
