Just got the results back for my first HbA1c since I was diagnosed. My Glucose figures at diagnosis (exactly three months ago) were 215 mg/dl I think I saw written down. The test I had for work previously was 188 mg/dl. Anyway, just back from the doctors and have these now....
HbA1c 5.9%
HbA1CM 41 mmol/mol
Glucose 92 mg/dl
Some other things have also got back to normal levels like my Gamma-GT liver levels. This was 63 when diagnosed and is now 17.
Can't be related to alcohol either as I only have one beer per week or so anyway. So, overall I think the figures are encouraging. My Doctor told me to go down to one Metformin 850 per day instead of two. All done through Low Carb and light exercise. Can't do heavy exercise because at the moment I have a shoulder problem (Calc and a Torn Tendon that healed wrong).
Have to go for the Retina test though next week. Absolutely dreading that
