I had my 3 month post idagnosis check-up including HbA1C.
Down from 103 to 45. Woo hoo.
Note on the surgery database said symptoms reversed.
Nurse pleased - wanted to find out how I'd done it.
She said I could relax a bit. Possibly relaxed too much in the pub yesterday lunch time halfway through a 250 mile journey from Swansea to the Fens. BG was 8.2 three hours on. I think I picked at too many chips, and I guess the veggie burger was higher carb than I anticipated.
So thanks to all those who have encouraged and posted positively about low carbs.
I am hoping that weight loss may have made my liver more responsive to insulin - in which case, I can relax a bit. I've got a feeling that my dietary paradigm shift will continue, albeit relaxed in that I know it works. A fair number more needle sticks to see what happens with different foods.
Best wishes
Adam
That's a fantastic result! I was pleased to go from 88 to 54 in 3 months but that's amazing!!! Have they reduced any of your medication based on that out of interest? I was experiencing hypos a lot so have reduced my medication (with the the diabetes nurse agreement) but worried about my next test now although blood sugars have still been ok when testing. I find carb lowering really really hard - headaches and hunger and they push my levels up I know. Thanks
