First HbA1c results back...

So I've just had my first HbA1c results back.. I was diagnosed at the end of Feb 2014..

HbA1c - 73 mmol/mol Cholesterol 3.9

I expected a high HbA1c as my diagnose levels were so high in the first place...

will be starting metformin tomorrow building up to 3 times a day in three weeks on top of the 2 x gliclazide

My experience seems to be different to most others. First HbA1c was almost the same as yours. doctor basically told me to do something about it and come back in 1 month. will be getting my fourth HbA1c at the start of June less than 4 months after diagnosis. Seems he was right my BG levels are better than my non diabetic wife after meals. Due to diet only.
