I would suggest that the two of you get a copy of her medical notes and translate them, so that when she goes to local medical practice, they know which insulin and drugs your girlfriend is on, whether she has any existing problems etc.
You need to get the form for an NHS Exemption Certificate, from the practice as well, so that she gets all her prescriptions free of charge.
If she hasn't had them, might be a good idea to find out about flu and pneumococcal vaccines which are both free. Also, if she's going to be a student, meningitis vaccine might be an idea too, also free.
They will probably want to do an HbA1c blood test, and also blood tests for things like cholesterol and triglycerides, plus get her feet looked at a podiatrist clinic and her eyes scanned in hospital clinic or mobile one - but it depends where you live - not all areas offer everything
I'm assuming that she's coming here to live, but if it's just a visit, I suggest contacting your embassy in London for advice as the local medical practice might not know.
