I think so, both are good sources of omega3
 
Both are excellent choices @Diane_56 - lots of goodness in there.
 
Most certainly. With the proviso that it’s not with sunflower oil if you buy the tinned varieties.
 
Doesn't it depend what you do with the fish?
For example, grilled fish is low in carbs but battered fish is high in carbs.

Usually the only alternative to that is fish in tomato sauce You can get Tuna without any oil but not seen that in sardines

Olive oil is usually an option. Although frankly it’s probably not the best quality and is quite likely cut with seed oils anyway.

I get those from time to time. you can always rinse off whatever is on them and use your own olive oil.

Yeah likewise. If I’m buying tinned I will only buy it if it’s with olive oil. Then I rinse them off and usually serve with my own oil and/or olives in olive oil and often a good helping of sauerkraut. Mostly though I buy the fish outright, either for cooking myself, or already pre-cooked to serve cold as above.
 
Mrs Listlad is half cat and half woman. She eats a lot of fish. Unfortunately she isn’t always choosey about the oil she cooks it in, though I have succeeded in getting her to move to olive oil or butter.

She eats a lot of tinned sardines, fresh mackerel and tinned tuna aswell as a wide range of other fish. I also eat the tinned tuna and some of the John West tuna offerings are flavoured or just simply in brine.

A tin of (no drain) John West tuna in chilli And garlic, for example, is very low in carbs though does have extra virgin olive oil in the mix.

I just stick to tinned salmon. 100% salmon. No added oils or sauces. I generally have 3 small tins a week.
 
Fresh fish is a lot better than tinned fish, might have fish for lunch done on the barbeque.
