Flying lessons - any type 1 pilots?

My OH has a pilots licemce, on one of his forums (he has flying ones, I have diabetic ones LOL) someone is asking if you can gain certification if type 1. This relates to private pilots licence. Any help from anyone with experience would be appreciated.

Yes you can you can even get a commercial pilots licence, you have to show good awareness and control

I think @ScottyD is a Type 1 commercial pilot.
At least I hope so now I've tagged him...
