Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with type 1 in October last year. Over the next few months I will be flying to a few various places and was wondering if people had any problems with taking your medication through security etc? I’am treated with Lantus and Novo rapid so will be carrying needles and my testing stuff. Any advise/experiences would be great. Thanks
 
There are numerous threads about travelling and flying with diabetes.

I would say, the key points are
- get a letter from your doctor (you'll probably never need it but better safe than sorry)
- travel with ALL your diabetes equipment in your hand luggage. NEVER EVER EVER put insulin in the hold.
- take TWICE as much of everything than you need. This includes insulin pens if you have refillable ones
- lots of us do it ... alot
- enjoy your trip ... just as you would without diabetes
