Hi all, im flying from Ireland to the UK next month, its my first time fling with type 1 diabetes.. do i need a letter from my GP for my insulin pens and stuff??? any info please..
I've noticed one thing that seems to get missed in all these travel discussions - Insurance. If you have travel insurance then tell your insurers that your one of us.
Don't know how neccessary it is but when I went to Gran Canaria last year I was also advised to tell the airline. Most of them have a customer welfare line, when I called I was told that the information would be logged against my passenger information.

You should be fine, but if your unsure just ask for a letter, but just be aware, some gp surgeries charge, if your under the care of a hospital diabetes clinic they will provide you with a letter free of charge.
