Hi, I'm type 2 have been for approx. 2 years. My initial readings were 27 and I'm now down to 12. My question is; lately I've been getting pain, throbbing, burning and aching in my feet its been keeping me awake at night and is affecting my work. it feels like the onset of gout but having had that I can say it never quite reaches the top end of the scale, and unlike gout I've had this pain for approx. 3 weeks. I took medication (volterol) and that did nothing whereas in the past that would alleviate any gout pain at source thereby making me feel it may be something else.
I'm on metformin for my diabetes and am wondering if it is likely that the source of the pain is diabetes and if so can anyone recommend any remedies.
yours I'm hope.

Hello pedwarmerch, i would say from your description that your suffering from neuropathy of the feet, in my case i was following the nhs guidelines and taking metformin , but the foot pain i was getting ,was not getting any better.
But on finding this forum and learning how to lower my bs's by lchf , my weight dropped steadily from 17 st 6 lbs to todays 13st 2 lbs , my bs was 26.8 mmol but today is regularly 3.5 mmols , result : foot pain totally gone. I'll tag @daisy1 and she will give you the info for new posters, please ask any q's you want and hope you find all the answers you need here to get you fit and well, clive

Hi pedwarmech and welcome to the forum. I think you should see your doctor about this, to get checked out and to see if he or she can recommend any treatment.

Thanks, that's been really helpful and put my mind at rest about a few things
