Hi
@superbarney - I have a different view to
@ringi on his opinion that very few T2 using insulin can lose weight and keep it off. I would say, from observation, there are more and more who are doing just that.
Actually just taking insulin doesn't make individuals gain weight, although if the carbs to insulin rations are a bit off then it certainly can happen. Over the years I have been a member here (it'll be 4 in November, I think), I have seen more T2s arriving with similar issues to yourself, or simply just wanting to trim up a bit who have, by careful dietary choices and good insulin balancing lose weight, which often in turn reduces insulin resistance, meaning less is required. Quite a number have actually managed to come off insulin over time.
Could you maybe clarify a couple of things for us, please?
Firstly, what medication are you on. Your thread title is Forxiga, but in the body of your post you say you're taking a combination of Metformin and Insulin? Are you actually taking all three meds?
What sorts of things are you eating, and what levels of insulin are you using?
Just as an aside, your thread title doesn't really give a big clue to your question. If you think you might like to change it, or add anything, just let me, or any of the other Mods know and we can do that for you. It's also absolutely fine to leave it as it is, if that's what you prefer.
