Hi me-to-you and welcome to the forum Here is some information to get you started which we give to new members. Ask as many questions as you like after you have read this and there will be someone who will help you.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You'll find loads of good advice on here. Read some of the posts in the newly diagnosed section. There is a particularly good one written by Grazer but I'm sorry I don't know how to attach a link.

The main thing is to cut down on your carb intake and test your blood glucose levels 2 hours after eating to see which foods you can and can't tolerate. Most of us T2s have to buy our own meters as the NHS refuse to provide them if you are not taking hypo inducing medication eg insulin. Remember to sign the e-petition.

Just ask loads of questions here and there is always someone experienced enough to help you.

Good luck with it all.

Hi there!

I stick to "sugar free" fizzy drinks like diet coke.

"No added sugar" squashes are fine as well (although they do contain some natiral sugars)

Look out for flavoured waters (fizzy and still). Some are great but others such as Volvic contain a lot of added sugar...

Just look at the carboydrate content on the nutritional labels to work out which ones are good....

Good luck!
