After some advice, my meter just says HI which hasn't happened to me for a long time. Obviously at this point I'm pretty screwed anyway, but how do you work out how much insulin to take from that reading? I just took 8 units of novo rapid and thought I'll see how I go from there as I don't want to over estimate and go hypo, which is where this 'HI' came from in the first place!
What do people tend to do when they get these readings? Honestly, constant hypos last night to this! I'm feeling like a human yoyo!
Have you another machine to test on just to double check machine not being silly?
And anything to test for ketones?
I think you've probably done right with correction as you said you don't want to dip the other way, just keep testing and keep an eye, hope you don't feel too rubbish xx
seems the machine was right! I waited for it to come down and after three hours was 12.1. Now had some food and coffee and ready to take on the day (at twenty past one in the afternoon! Shameful ha ha)
