I won't have a reader but will be using my yet to arrive phone.

I assume I have to use the libre linkup. Very few stars in the playstore.

Do you have to register on Abbot's website?
 
Do you mean LibreLink?
I use this to activate my sensor but find I get better results from the Glimp app.
Glimp is only available on Android.

If you are interested in Libre experience, search for Libre on the forum.
There are many many many threads on the topic.
 
Linkup is in the play store, and is different. The one I need is downloadable from Abbott web site. Good job I asked.
