Freestyle libre CGM

That's interesting about inserting the sensor 24hrs before you start it, never knew that. I have a sensor on right now and it's brilliant, I love the libre, my blood sugars are normally pretty stable though so it's usually 0.3mmol different from a finger prick test for me.

hi @CarbsRok - just reading through some posts trying to get info on CGMS's - just wondering about the your comments concerning how long the Dexcom sensors last? if they state up to 6 days, how do people get them to work up to this length of time after that? are they still reliable if the life is extended?
I'm trying to chose a pump using CGM and narrowed it down to the Vibe and the Medtronic 640 and am now working out the costs involved to me for buying the CGM part.

@asa35 all you do is restart the sensor as if you have inserted a new one. Which means you have the 2 hour warm up period as if stating a new sensor.
The secret is to make sure you sensor is well and truly stuck down. There are plenty of tips in the blood testing forum so have a look in there for more help.
Personally I haven't had much problem with reliability, you just have to remember no system is 100% and if you are not sure about a reading then do a finger poke.
