Not really, no. T1Ds constitute less than 0.5% of the population, so we aren't very lucrative and certainly aren't a mass market! They can build huge industries to build millions of computers or cars, but nobody gives a **** about T1Ds.
Well I don't get it. It's not because we're not a mass market that they cannot make profit with it... it's just a matter of investment and price adjustment. It's not because of its price that I want it, it's because I NEED itNot really, no. T1Ds constitute less than 0.5% of the population, so we aren't very lucrative and certainly aren't a mass market!
I believe (although this is solely based on hearsay) that the crux of the problem is that Abbott have started selling to the German health system, and so have a vested interest to supply the demand on that side as the priority, to existing private customers as a secondary priority, and new customers as a third and final priority.I'm a french woman also waiting for the FreeStyle Libre, with a complex T1D (some genetic extras...).
Now pregnant, I need between 15-25 measures a day and I would REALLY have some help NOW with it... I'm sad it will be too late when it becomes available again...
Does anyone know WHY it is taking so long ?

I'm also looking into a Dexcom G5 but it feels harder to get one (the french contact for dexcom is unresponsive).
Someone is selling a G5 on amazon at 1300$ but it feels like a scam... plus I wouldn't know how to get supplies for it.
