Freestyle trial question

Hi everyone,

I just have a question about the new freestyle libre 2 free trial, I've applied for it and they've sent me instructions but I'm not sure how to download the app required for smart phone, can anyone assist with this? I'm obviously not tech savvy at all, apologise in advance if this is a daft question.

If you have an Android phone, search for the LibreLink in the Play Store.
If you have an Apple phone search for LibreLink in the Apple store.

Click Install button to install the app,

Any idea why? Just curious...the web site says as long as you have diabetes and didn't do a free trial of the Libre before you should be eligible.

No free trials here in Canada (yet). I'm hoping that changes.

Did you download the app and answer the questions? If so, perhaps you should direct your question to Abbot as they may review their refusal. Also, as a Libre wearer if you aren’t eligible to get a sensor on prescription, consider if you are prepared to pay for it yourself. My husband and I self fund ours and it costs £48 for each of us for one 14 day sensor. We are currently over £100 a month each for our sensors! They aren’t cheap but we consider it to be a good investment in our own health. I was diagnosed in January and ordered the sensor immediately as my doctor wouldn’t even prescribe a finger prick monitor, lancets and strips.
 

Yep, I agree but for many people (if not most) I'm guessing a £100 a month is WAY out of their grasp, despite any health benefits.
 
Maybe in error but I downloaded the librelinkup and have received my trial sample however it is not the librelink that seems to be needed. This is just to share your info with others. After following all their instructions it now says my android is not compatible and can't be used.
Will see if either daughter has a spare phone I can borrow for a few weeks.
 
I have a pretty high end Samsung phone. I believe the Libre sensor used NFC (near field communications).
The same setup which is used if you pay on a contactless machine or use the London Transport readers.
Your phone may not have NFC - I think you can check the models which work on the Freestyle site.

Very true but before I was diagnosed I was able to spend 100 quid on an night out with out thinking about it. till the next morning.
 
Started mine today. It is Librelink you need. The list of phones on the website is very limited, my Sony Xperia works fine although no Sonys are mentioned. As long as your phone has a recent version of Android and NFC, I expect it will work. My error on fitting the sensor was not to put it as far back on my arm as I intended, I should have looked in a mirror while doing it. I was surprised that it was completely painless.

Hi Andy, for some they will be able to find it from other sources such as less socialising(!) but my main point was that many families would not be able to set aside £100 for alcohol or a libre.
 
Just started my free Libre 2 trial and it is going well but I have a question. How do I store the data longer term, do I need Libreview to save it to my pc from my phone, I don't have a reader.
 
[I just fitted my second sensor today and I agree about using a mirror. I stood at the bathroom sink and leant my hand on the wall.
