Freezing Feet

I get the same feeling.
It was this that made me check if I was T2,the underneath usually feels like you have really tight skin .
Probably warmer when getting up out of bed but cold at night.
That's diabetes for you.I can get better but takes years to improve.

Have you had your circulation checked?

This was my only symptom of T2. It got better once I took control of my diet and lowered my blood glucose levels. It took just a few weeks to clear. I used to describe it as though someone was pumping liquid nitrogen into my toes and slowly this stuff made its way further up my feet until it came up to just above my ankles. Nothing I could do would warm them up. All fine now, though.

I have freezing feet. A lot of the time freezing hands too. My hands never used to be cold but these days are bad. Last night I slept outside the cover apart from my feet but they never got warm at all.

Even in the summer I use a hot water bottle which helps enormously!

Sounds like damaged nerve endings have a word with diabetic nurse I get the same my feet are warm but feel like blocks of ice not a lot you can do .Jim H

Metformin gave me Raynaud's syndrome [cold feet & hands] as it began when I started taking Metformin but it was 6 months after stopping Metformin that things went back to normal.

Hi this is my very first post and felt that I really had to get in touch. I have been an insulin dependant diabetic since 1984 and earlier this year had excruciatingly painful what felt like cold feet. Went to GP and after a number of tests, involving touching my toes with my eyes closed to see whether I could feel it, it was decided that I had early stages of diabetic neropathy, I was told that this was not reversable but we could try to manage the pain. Tried one medication I think it was Gabapentin (which is traditionally used to treat epilepsy) for about 3 weeks with absolutely no relief - it was all I could think about and spoilt my weeks ski-I got holiday. Went back to GP on my return and was prescribed Amitripyline 10mg (traditionally used as anti-depressant ,,,,,and was so relieved after about 3 days - my life is back on track. Had to share this in case in could help someone else.

Sorry to suggest the following but you could have early warnings of Diabetic Neuropathy - I should know

The advice from @Guzzler sounds good. Controlling blood sugar and diet should help. Can I put in a request on behalf of your endothelial cells, when doing this, to be extra nice to them, because endothelial dysfunction causes poor circulation in diabetes.

They love folates, so if you focus your new and improved diet on eating food high in folates, you might speed up the process of improvement. Folates are in green vegetables, especially brussel sprouts, and spinach, but other things as well, so chose what you like.

But being as kind to them as you can should help.
