Type of diabetes
Type 2
My Dr is convinced I have type 2 diabetes as I have a rash on my arms that is associated with it. And a blood test came back at 11. He has just had others done to confirm and I have been told to be prepared for confirmation and adjust my life style.
I would like to know if it is ok to drink fruit teas, as I drink more fruit tea than breakfast tea.

Fruit tea is fine as there is no/hardly any sugar/carbs in as long as you aren't adding anything else into it

hi there and welcome to the forum
I often drink fruit teas as a refreshing pick me up

Green Tea is also fantastic and helps reduce a number of metabolic markers such as BG and Blood Pressure. I've been drinking it now since my diagnosis 7 weeks ago.

All the best and do not fear the future even if the results are not as you hope

I've been gradually withdrawing from caffeine to decaf tea and drink a lot of fruit/herbal teas now. Most contain 0g of carbohydrates and they are very refreshing !

Definitely! Just don't put honey, sugar, palm sugar or agave nectar in the teas, and they will be fine.

I've tried green tea in both plain and fancy versions, and it definitely makes me feel queasy... I've wondered whether it's the tannin and/or caffeine, since I've only drunk herb teas and decaff coffee for donkeys years now.

@jackieYbrown : But I definitely agree that fruit teas should be fine, it's just the sugary stuff that might be put into them that would be an issue.
