<br />Hiya sounds as if you are on a mix, something like 70/30!
If this is the case ring the hospital and talk to the diabetes nurse and ask to change over to MDI. This involves having your short and long acting seperate. Don't do as many do and just take a fixed dose learn how to carb count and adjust your insulin to your needs.
Hope you feel better soon.

Sarah I couldn't agree more.
Madpiper, you need to get onto basal/bolus. If you are truly T1 you are on the positively WORST insulin regime you could possibly be on. Learn carb counting, get on basal bolus regime. If you really really are able to do it, enrol in
http://www.bdec-e-learning.com/
which will teach you carb counting. It's your life, look after it!
