I'm thinking about going in the RAF Full time!
I've been thinking about it for a while. But then my diabetes come on!
Will I still be able to go in with it or not?
If so is there any like diet plans I can follow to get RAF fit?

You wont be allowed to join the armed forces. Once diagnosed if in the forces you are medically discharged.
Simple reason is they wont stop a war just for you to inject or if you are hypo. Hypo in charge of a machine gun

gutted

How about the police force or fire brigade I know they take people with type 1 diabetes?
I thought the deal with those forces was that they wouldn't accept you with Type 1 but if you develop it after joining they keep you on.

It's the same with the military. If you develop type 1 after enlisting I don't think you get discharged, you get moved to a desk job.

We should be careful though because I would think type 2 diabetes is treated differently.

If it's type 2 diabetes you have, and you got diagnosed with it recently, then yes there is something called the Newcastle Diet you can do that will get you fighting fit.

OP has type 1 according to his profile.
No def not you are moved to a desk job then discharged as not fit for active service. There's a gentleman on another forum going through the discharge process now due to developing type 1 diabetes.
AS to the police and fire brigade yes you can join up now with type 1 diabetes. It's done on an individual bases

Alas you can't see that part of the profile on the phone app. Shame as that is probably the most important piece of information from the profile as far as this forum is concerned.

The profile page may not be accurate anyway!
For a couple of months (since last update(def not upgrade!)) it has refused to accept me as T2 and reverts me to T1 on diet only!.
