Type 2 Gabapentin and raised blood glucose

I have recently started gabapentin for the neuropathy in my leg and have noticed my blood glucose starting to rise every morning .
This morning went on an extra long walk with the dogs for around an hour and 15 mins before breakfast and usually would be below 5 when I got back but this morning after testing 3 times I got a 6.8 and then two 7's !!! so not happy !
Anyone else had any experience of this??
