My son is an avid Cybernations member but they don't do things like this either.
WoW has an enormous following running into millions worldwide and as far as I know only advertise via normal channels when they produce an upgrade. Gold sellers also called Gold farmers are really annoying companies who spam the game offering to sell WoW gold for real cash and also offering leveling services. They are not endorsed by Blizzard.
They are a bane to real players - I personally report about 3 or 4 an hour which the game moderators ban.
Incidentally, I'm not a young player I'm in my second ( or possibly third ) childhood
