Hi folks, after many weeks in and out of hospital I've been diagnosed with Gastroparesis and not really given a lot of information about it bar take laxatives if you feel blocked up. A bit of research shows a change of diet can be helpful in managing this condition, so I was wondering what type of foods people would recommend? Thank you for any help with this
Hi @aniratefan You might find this site informative: https://www.healthline.com/health/gastroparesis/gastroparesis-diet
Before you make serious decisions, I would discuss this with somebody at the diabetes clinic, especially a dietician. Pester them at least on the phone! They have given you a serious diagnosis which demands help, especially as you are Type 1. Good luck!
Thank you @Grant_Vicat I appreciate the link. I'm seeing my dietitian in the next few weeks so hopefully they will be able to help me. I just hate the point when you're told what's wrong and given no further information

Aniratefan - I'll tag @donnellysdogs as she has had some significant bowel issues. I'm not sure if it's gastroparesis, but she has certainly had a real journey and I'm sure will want to help where she can.
I haven't see her on the forum for a few days, so please do be patient.
