Hi all,
I have to have a gastroscopy next week at eight am . I usually take my Levemir at 8 30pm and 8 30 am and have been told I can't have it until after the procedure and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on the timings of my LevemirShould I change my timings

I'm not sure why you would change anything. The point of the Levemir is to maintain your background glucose levels flat. Not taking it would mean that they would increase. If your basal is correct, I don't see a reason not to take it, but I suspect they are concerned about you going hypo with a tube down your throat, so that's what you'd need to consider.

The reason I wanted to change the timings was that I won't be worrying about when the next one is due as I stress about everything.I wondered if I put my evening to nine thirty would give me a bit if leeway

Just take it after the procedure like they said. An hour or so won't make any significant difference that day.

Thanks all for your replies They have eased my mind a lot and was what I was thinking of doing.
