Hi!

I eat sugar snaps in large quantities, regularly. they are a mainstay. never had a spike with them.

what did you drink with your breakfast? could that have had an impact sending you up above 7? Alternatively, sounds like stress, maybe?

true keto-adaptation takes a month to six weeks, I think. but getting over the low-carb flu takes much less. i would be very surprised if that took longer than a week. most people start feeling the benefit within 5 days or so...

no idea about the booze.

I used to save my carb quota up for my evening pud. and then got frustrated when i spiked higher than i would have liked. since I have stopped doing that, things have improved. i feel better over all, and those evening readings are just where I want them (under 7 all the time)

Glad you found what I put useful, I can only tell what I experience.

I have done a bit of research and:
1/2 cup of peas contains 8g of effective carbs and 4g of fibre
1/2 cup of sugarsnap peas contains 3g of effective carbs plus 2g of fibre
100g of mangetout contains 4g of total carbs and no fibre, (100g of sugarsnap peas contained 6g of effective carbs and 4g of fibre)

I do wish websites would use standardised weights and measures it would make things much easier to compare, but it does look like sugarsnap peas and mangetout come out pretty good for carb content.

Appreciate the research immensely
