Hi folks
bit stressed and confused today
recap why im stressed and confused ok last few weeks ive been having high levels around 10 - 14 consistantly on metformin 3 x 500mg per day diet roughly stayed same call it diet should just call it food then last sunday kept on waking up going to toilet and so thirsty and pretty much that on and off week fri sat morning so bad during night worked out id drunk 5lt water bottle 2 500ml sugar free soft drink spent most of that night next to toilet but still so dry morning bg level 16 easy day i had did a few bits shopping but still drinking lots and when i checked my level at evening test meter just read high checked 4 more times diffrant fingers whashed them few times just to check i had not got somthing that would make it give bad results but still high had metformin and me porkchop dinner with carrots that evening i checked my ketones with the strips nothing normal but i was suspicius as there out of date checked twice before i went to bed about 23.30 good film on still meter just saying high any way after bad night 5lt water bottle again lots of toilet time when i woke again at 5am made myself coffee with sweetner thought id check my bg meter said 33.1 what what ive never been near that since i was diagnosed i checked again meter said high so i thought somthing seriously wrong so packed a bag and headed for local a&e booked in waited for nurse to do my assesment she called took my vitals got the meter out 26.9 questions have u eaten this morning no just black coffee with sweetner ok we will take some blood good luck i said after 4 goes nothing not a drop she then called doc he manged to get a bit lol so after little exam more questions and moved to third room sat there for 2 hours and another doc comes hi im a diabetic doctor ok hi there were not keeping u in we are just going to give request from ur gp to do your habc1 and change your tablets more metformin we will take line out of your hand now bye bye go home with just pescription and blood requst pouch for gp now what im confused no drugs in hospital ok nice in some ways hate being on drips but asking my gp to get my hbac1 done ????????? what was point of taking blood then earlier so ok got back about 11 1st thing i did was check my levels 22.3 big smile on my face great quick drink and some food half bowel of cereal so hungry with 1 metformin since then my bg readings have shot back up to 26.2 .to 29.8 and thats on 2 metformin now i give up and want to pull my hair out
