My Diabetic nurse has just phoned about my high HBA1C results which were 120 , she said we need ro get these down as quickly as poss
, I'm currently on a low carb plan now and hoping my bs will come down over time , has anyone had these and if I'm low carbing are these safe aswell as she did say I have to be careful I don't go into a hypo , I'm a bit worried now,
I did have hypos on glimipiride, but I'm also on insulin. Since stopping the glimipiride I've had less hypos. I wear a continuous glucose monitor and that lessens the worry about hypos, but they are very expensive

No I wasn't low carbing, more careful carbing. If you do have hypos you will learn to spot the symptoms - for me it begins with nausea, sweating and a weak feeling. If you have some orange juice or a dextrose tablet it comes up pretty quickly. You then need to eat a more substantial slow-acting carb like a sandwich, otherwise your levels might yoyo up and down. But if you're not on insulin you might not have hypos
