I have been moved onto Glucaphage from ordinary met for about 6 weeks now I am not rushing to the loo now and feel better but I have been sick 4 times in this time (not as often as on mets). When I am sick it is always in early hours of the morning between 3am and around 6am I take my glucophage pill (second of 2) with my evening meal around 6.30 .Does any one know why I should be sick 9-12 hours after pill ther doesnt seem to be any other conection eg what I have eaten. Why does the morning pill not make me sick? I do not feel ill or have bad stomach ache when I am sick althuogh I am not happy with my head down the loo in the early hours  .Has any one else had this problem before I go to GPs he is the one who says that what youdoes not affect your BGs only the meds do that ,so needless to say I dont have much faith in him. Thanks CAROL

Hi Carol

Poor old you, that does not sound nice. Hope things improve soon.

When you are sick at between 3am and 6am do you test to see what your blood sugar levels are ?

It may be that you are low at that time and you may need to have a snack to bring your levels up again.

What do you eat at your evening meal ? Do you have a snack before going to bed ?

Never thought of this sue but I have never been below 6 whatever time I have tested so I did not give a thought to being low I will try testing next time  I some times have a snack in the evening but it depends what time we eat and how tired I am.Thanks for the sugestion. CAROL

Sick again this morn 4am  Wonderful :!: I tested 7.2 so not low .Is anyone else having this problem? If I ask GP to change my meds what is the next option after met sr am I likely to get other side effects .Is it better to be sick every 3 weeks or so.Any ideas :?: CAROL
