Glucophage & insulin

I'm T2 diet controlled, but my friend is on glucophage & insulin. She's really struggling at the moment. Although she's doing nothing different, her BS is all over the place. As well as diabetes she has a liver problem, and is complaining of pain in that area. She is going to get an appointment at the GP, but I wondered if anyone can suggest anything. (I will make sure she gets to the GP).
