Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong area.

A friend of mine came across this book and thought it might be of interest to me.

T2 on Trulicity 1.5mg injections

Can’t get Ozempic like the rest of the world for love nor money, so I was wondering if this book was suitable, and if anyone here had come across it or knew anything about it please?

Many thanks

The advice appears to be based on the traditional French way of eating. i.e. split the meal up so as to have the starter or aperitif (often referred to as crudite) which is normally raw and carb based, then the main meat course without too many veggies, then finally the desert or sweet course. It is based on the philosophy that the carb starter triggers the first phase insulin response in readiness for the protein course, But most T2D are actually lacking the ability to have a first phase response to carbs, so I detect a weakness in the method at least for T2D.

In my youth we used to have a soup or starter with bread roll course then the meat and 2 veg then pudding, so we used to follow a similar pattern of old, but recent eating habits have merged it all into a handy quick snack to go. And we tend to eat off our laps rather than sit formally down to dinner and we have less of the "masticate for 20 bites before swallowing" relaxed eating style of yore. When I was a kid, we had to ask permission to leave the table, but that is old fashioned. But maybe the ancients knew better than modern mankind?

Anyway, it is down to timing it seems. She is residing in France, I believe.

"Type One Talks"on YouTube has a video on this.

Personally, I agree that eating veggies first, proteins second, and carbs third is a French thing and really not something innovative. If I remember correctly Type One Talks says in this video that this "hack" really didn't do as much as Jesse makes it out to be.

I don't see that any of her hacks are harmful, so do your research, and then do what works for you.

Oldvatr once again, thank you for your wise words. Nothing you raised sounds alien to me. I grew up like that too. Ate a Mediterranean diet which was delicious and extremely nutritious. You definitely didn’t leave the table without asking first. The mind boggles sometimes when you look at what you do to try and keep yourself healthy. I can’t eat fast. It is an impossibility for me (I’m coughing a lot when I eat) and despite taking about an hour to eat my food and always sitting down to eat I always gain weight. I don’t enjoy fast food or fried food. I love healthy food like salads. I was on holidays recently so got to eat fruit which I don’t normally eat. Plenty of healthy protein with very low carbs (apart from the fruit). I love that food. Anyway I digress thank you again for your informative advice.

Modean987 thank you for taking the time to respond to my original post.

I never knew about these "Type One Talks". I must look at them. It’s very interesting what she proposes, but I suppose we, as you said, find what’s right for us and stick to it. Thanks again.
