Hi all,
I have in the past few weeks, started running as another way of keeping my type 2 under control. I saw the nurse today who was very pleased with my progress, unfortunately there was one question she couldn't answer, can I take glycocyamine supplements?
As I have started running I have noticed that, at my age the only part of me that is suffering are my hip joints. I have never run before, so starting at 50 is a bit of a shock to the system. Does anyone know if I would be able to take glycocyamine?

Many thanks
Mick

I am waiting for a hip replacement operation and when I saw the consultant recently he prescribed glucosamine . He knows i have diabetes so I think they are safe to take.

hi, i have no idea what that is but maybee build up slowly rather than just going for it will strengthen your hips, maybee your already doing this but its just a thought, im 43 and a personal trainer at the gym has suggested building up certain muscles that help with the running she is a marathon runner so i spose if anyone would know.......on saying that shes 40 quid an hour so i suppose telling me to leave the gym and go and run in the park wouldnt be so smart

good luck with the running, i love it and it makes huge differences to my weight loss and bg
