Going for assessment this week!

Hi, at my annual review in July, my endo recommended me for an assessment with the consultant DSN to look at going on a pump (this is due to impaired hypo awareness).

I have my assessment this Wednesday and just wondered what I can expect? What kind of questions will I be asked and is a decision made there and then or would I need to wait to hear if I've been approved to go ahead with a trial?

Thank you, yingtong. Yes, my assessment was also really simple. DSN said I met the criteria and there was no issue of putting me on the waiting list. She did suggest that in the meantime I think about a different basal insulin (deuldec) but because it's very expensive, funding has to be applied for. I don't really want to go to the trouble of that, though, if I will be going on the pump anyway.

She wants a couple of tests run on me, though, as I only take such a small dose of Levemir but still get frequent hypos. She wants me to get a C-Peptide and I have to another short synacthen test for Addison's. Had one of those about two and half years ago which came back normal but they want it repeated. I'm nervous about that one, tbh, because I was feeling a bit sickly tired at the start of the summer and was considering going to my GP for a FBC, but then I felt better.
