Hi all sorry just joined on here so I have a quick question for everyone (probably more aimed at men who have diabetes though). Everytime I leave the house I have to make sure I have my handbag with me (need my essential: purse, phone, keys and testing kit - I'm on a pump so I don't anyways need to carry injections with me). Just wondering how does everyone else carry these things around with them because I don't always want to take my bag out with me and I could fit my phone, keys and cash and cards and things in pockets but when it comes to my testing kit I get a bit stuck. I can't imagine every person who has diabetes takes a bag with them at all times! Thanks
Except in very rare instances, I take my bag of stuff with me. I actually use a small runner's pack to hold all of my stuff. It's an "Amphipod Endurance Plus" pouch and cost $10usd.
It's big enough to house my insulin pen, test kit, extra needle tips, and a few glucose tablets. Fortunately, it's still small enough to fit in my pocket (although it looks funny), and it also doesn't look like a medical bag which I like.
Absolutely not, when out and about my pump case (which contains bg testing kit) and glucose just go in my coat pockets, if I'm just out for a short while I don't take my case and just carry some fast-acting glucose as I still have good hypo awareness,
