After thirteen years of poor control my Dr sent me to see a dietician i have never seen one before. My blood sugers was always in high teens early twentys . She explained about matching carbs to amount of insulin i use.Since i started following advice my levels have dropped to a range of 4.6 to 10.3. I feel fitter and healthier than i have for ten years ,i no longer feel like going to sleep half way through afternoon .i wondered how many others use this method.

hi there, I have heard others talk about this on here too. it's something i'd love my T1 mother to try but she wouldn't. she believes what she was told in the late 70s a diabetic NEEDS lots of starchy carbs. am glad to hear it's working for you.

I will back this up 100%. Was diagnosed as a child aged 8. ( now 33 years old) never really cared for my diabetes through my teenage years and into my late 20's. I am now in a rehab hub centre and on an insulin pump which has been the best thing I've ever done.
