Hello Everyone...

I'm a newbie to the forum but not to Diabetes.. I started many years ago with a low blood sugar (2), but now have a high blood sugar (diagnosed at 15 - but now around 9.3) ... But despite having diabetes and it being an after effect of a disability that I was born with.. I just carry on being me... I refuse to give up...

Hi and welcome to the forum I admire your willpower in continuing to stay yourself and not let your health problems affect who you are. I am not sure if you need any information as you seem to be looking after your diabetes well but sometimes, going back to basics can be helpful. So, here is some information that we give to new members and maybe you will find something in here that is useful to you personally. Ask as many questions as you like on here as there is usually someone who is able to reply.

Many thanks Daisy and Martina,

for your really nice and polite welcome to the forum...

Daisy, I am managing fairly well, although my current levels are standing at 10.2 (the last Hb1C), but as i have difficulty in taking tests myself down to a needle phobia and severe arthritis in my fingers, i have problems holding the needle never mind stabbing myself with it...

The pain in my fingers these days is so bad, that the slightest touch of even fabric sends pain shooting through my fingers into my arms...

After having Carpal Tunnel ops, and now having to have Electromyography tests for other nerves in the hand, which could be the reason why my left hand doesnt work properly (at times its frustrating)..

But i will persevere..

Many thanks
