Got my test results hba1c

Hi all

I think these results show I'm prediabetic but can you confirm please?

Hb1ac = 6.2% or 44mmol

Glucose test was skewed due to low carbing so not too worried by result - fasting 6.7 and post two hours 11.5. I'd already tested whilst at hospital and my meter gave me 12.2 so I guess my meter is slightly over estimating levels which is fine as I'd rather it was this way around!!

I can't be bothered to waste my time at the docs again for wooly advice when there's a lot more expertise here!

The HbA1c test can be used as a way of diagnosing diabetes, particularly cases of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) suggests the following diagnostic guidelines for diabetes:

• HbA1c below 42 mmol/mol (6.0%): Non-diabetic
• HbA1c between 42 and 47 mmol/mol (6.0–6.4%): Impaired glucose regulation (IGR) or Prediabetes

That's what I thought. My docs are useless so I'll just gm carry on with low carbing and go back in three months
