granola, yeah right.

Just thought I'd let you all know how this lizis granola effected me. My bs was 5.3 and after a bowl of the above mentioned went to 13 and stopped there all afternoon. At 46.2 carbs per 100 grams what the hell was I thinking. Back to eggs.
God I hate eggs.
 
How muchdid you eat?
It says a portion is 50g. I weigh out half that for myself and it's fine.

I agree with Hana - 100g is twice the recommended portion :shock: - carbs portion sizes make a big difference in controlling your bs - try a 50g portion with some berries- if that's still to much try reducing it again to 40g - I can tolerate 50g but find that a lot to chew through so I have about 30g with some total yogurt and a handful of mixed berries.

I can only manage a teaspoon of Lizi's granola on some yoghurt and fruit. :roll:

On the other hand if you make your own you can tweak the recipe to have what you like, making sure it is low enough on the carbs. See the recipe thread for granola.
 
I find it a bit pricey, but it tastes Grrrrrrrrrrreat.

Portion size is obviously important. If you're not on meds, try drinking some pink grapefruit juice immediately afterwards to counter act the BG spike.

Works for me. 8)
 
I wasn't too keen on how it looked. Reminded me of bird seed :lol: but it does taste good though not tested my BG after it yet though :roll:
