First of all - A shout out to all the courages and wonderful mums who have added Nursing to their long list of jobs!
Second - Are there any kids camp or organised group activities for diabetic kids?
We live in Africa. My type 1 son goes to a school were there's only 75 kids in total. The kids at the school are great kids and often forget my son has diabetes, a good thing however, I would like my son to meet other kids in the same situation. My son was diagnosed almost two years ago, almost killed him, we had to be evacuated out to London for medical help.
He is very lazy with his insulin and especially blood testing but doesn't complain when asked to do it. Every now and then he has a whinge about being diabetic but he is allowed that. His week average levels are good. We often struggle on winter holidays (especially with no exercise) but summer holidays are good.
Any advise on how to keep the levels down in the cold weather?
