I'm a new member and I have been a type 1 diabetic for the past 29 years. I was diagnosed at the age of 9 in August 1982. In April of this year I had DKA and became very ill very quickly and decided I had to do something about my control, so I went to a website and found some info on insulin/carb ratios and have had good control ever since! My hospital consultant is going to put me on the DAFNE course some time in the future and I'm hoping to go on an insulin pump eventually.
Hi squeeze and welcome to the forum I'm glad you have found the best method for you to get good control of your levels. I hope you don't have to wait too long before you do the DAFNE course as you will find it extremely useful as many other members here have found. Ask as many questions as you like as there is always someone who will be able to help.
