hi all, pretty new to computers did,nt know these sites were out there, well after reading some of the posts i think i will be staying i,ve been t2 since the mid 90,s my nurse say,s she wishes all her patients were like me, i dont know why , every time i do my tests they are between 8+14 still she knows best i suppose. when i was first diagnosed i lost 2st but since then i have gone back to my old ways , but having seen some of the posts on here i will be trying my best to keep up with all of you . what i would like to know is if i do a lchf diet, is there an alternative to fatty meat ? as i dont like much fat. thanks

You can get your fat from avocados, cooking in coconut oil or butter and sloshing olive oil on your salads. You may notice that most people try to keep their BS less than that.

I don't like fatty meat either and I LCHF diet. I eat lean beef, chicken, fish and eggs etc... but to raise the fat I eat butter, cheese, sometimes peanuts, pork scratchings and make some lovely double cream sauces.

Welcome to the forum. Rather than fatty meat, up your dairy produce. Cream, butter and cheese, and fry things in good old fashioned lard. If you do that and reduce your carbs you will see and feel in yourself a huge change for the better.

+1 I like plenty of fat on my meat but lot's of people don't so as stated above, all things like Butter instead of marge, cream, lovely cheese, lard are good sources of fat for those who wish to follow the LCHF diet

Keep asking questions, there will always be someone around who can help. It does get easier, I promise.
