Hello Everyone
My Daughter is type 1 Diabetic and so was my brothers daughter who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. I have heart problems (triple bypass some years ago) I am overweight and have vertebrae in my back that have crumbled plus very bad knees as well as being on warfrin for various bouts of DVT. So am unable to walk far at all . Plus im unable to have any major operation due to the triple bypass not going to plan so now am unsuitable for anaesthetic in all but absolute emergency. And my monthly prescription contains 14 regular and 5 as needed items on it.
Now to add to this the dr has just said I have to have a GTT test as one of my latest blood tests is out and with other things iv mentiond to the doc like blurred vision coming and going, tiredness, dry mouth, and drinking prolificly. Hence him ordering the GTT test which is now in just over a weeks time
Rightly or wrongly I like to try and do as much research on things beforehand with my medical history I have found its the best way Anyway I have read up on the test and found out about the results and with this in mind decided to try out the test on my own at home so I could get a idea as to what I might expect next week. However I think I have messed up As I did the GTT test and tested hourly and for some reason at the first hour test there was a low test result which was close to where it was at the first test. Then I saw the bottles of lucosade my partner had got for me I thought they was 250ml hence being 500ml as is needed for the test at the Docs but these was 380mls Doh Making 760ml.
Then a little later on I was reading a bit more when I saw that over a certain amount can cause a quick release and give a false reading by lowering the test results Is this right?. And if so I messed that test right up.
Anyway Iv got the 500ml ready for the Docs test but It was the only one iv been able to find of that quantity? they all now seam to be the 380ml
Can anyone suggest a shop that might sell the 500ml original lucosada please?
Best regards Oli
